“And Then…” : the Magic of Comics Storytelling
Comics are a unique art medium, using a sequence of still images to tell a story. This 60 - 90 minute workshop will explore the many ways you can communicate with comics. Fill in gaps in a sequence with your own brilliant or silly ideas. Discover surprising new story ideas by putting pictures next to each other. Experiment with your new story by adding some panels to heighten or even change the mood! There are no right answers here, only endless possibilities! Recommended for grades 2 - 8.
World-building for Comics
Getting lost in your own fantasy land can be a fun and empowering experience. In this 60 - 90 minute workshop you will discover how the story and message you want to tell can be reflected in the world you create. Dream up a protagonist, explore their connections to a new world, sketch a map for them to explore, and delve even deeper (if you dare!) with the kind of questions professional creators ask themselves when creating new realms! Recommended for grades 5 - 12.
We conduct these workshops in person in the New England area, and provide all drawing supplies and printouts. Our sessions start at $500, and we can adapt our presentation to any setting. Please get in touch for more information!
